Healthy Food Community of Practice
Working toward a world where everyone can access and consume healthy food
What We Do
Founded in 2020, the Healthy Food Community of Practice is a space for connection, learning, resource sharing, and action with a goal: help people experiencing food insecurity — particularly those facing systemic barriers — access and consume healthy foods.
The community, funded by the Walmart Foundation and facilitated by Share Our Strength through its subsidiary Community Wealth Partners, is made up of nearly 50 organizations across the country focused on healthy food access and consumption.
Purpose and Goal
PURPOSE: The Healthy Food Community of Practice is a space for national and regional organizations to connect, learn, resource share, and take collective actions in support of local communities as they reimagine and rebuild their food systems to thrive.
GOAL: BIPOC communities have equitable access and consume nutritious food — doing this will also address barriers faced by other marginalized communities.
What We're Learning
"We're here to imagine, to envision, to build, to question, to come together and think about what new food systems look like that are equitable, just, and more delicious for all."
